Аннотация: The topographic map of urban territories (drawn on a scale from 1:500 to 1 : 10000) plotted in accordance with the Roskartografiya standards, as a rule, contains no information about the road network. A method is developed which makes it possible to extract information about a road network from a city map. The results of processing the topographic map can be used in applications which require the graph of a road network; moreover, a partial correction of these results by using the geoinformation system tools may be required. For the main part, this correction consists in removing excess axial lines.
